Weekly Update

April 15, 2022

Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90:

This coming Monday evening, we are pleased to offer an Internet Safety Conversation with Renowned Author and Award Winner, Kerry Gallagher.  Please join us at Hampton Academy Auditorium beginning at 7:00 PM for an important discussion about how these digital tools impact our children, including the opportunities and potential pitfalls inherent in social media and digital literacy.  Kerry supports Digital Wellness where we can coach and model ways that support upstanding, blocking, and reporting which make the Internet a more positive and truthful place.  We hope to see you there!

This week, Facilities Manager Keith Lessard and I had the opportunity to meet with Anthony Panciocco, Director of Child Care Services at YMCA Schools Out.  We are hoping to provide before and after-school care as we were able to do pre-COVID.  Unfortunately, we have been unsuccessful at securing the necessary staffing.  We are currently seeking a site director and staff to assist with this offering.  Starting rates for site directors are $18/hour should you be wondering or have any interest.  Anthony will be attending our upcoming PTA Meeting on Tuesday, April 19 beginning at 7:00 PM at Hampton Academy.  Anthony plans to discuss how other communities have been successful at returning these programs to their areas and ways you might be able to assist.  Additionally, there is a brief survey that we kindly ask that you complete so that we might have a better understanding of our family’s needs.  We thank you in advance.

The New Hampshire Department of Education wants to hear from staff, families, and community members in our school community.  The 603 Bright Futures Survey is available from now until April 29th.  We are asking everyone to please set aside some time to participate in this offering.  While so much has changed in the past two years, it is critical to understand how we have all been impacted and how to best move forward for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.  Thank you in advance for your participation in this survey.

This week at the Hampton School Board Meeting, the board announced that the students’ final day of school will be Friday, June 17.  Students will have an early release with Hampton Academy releasing at 11:30 AM and Centre School and Marston School releasing at 12:00 noon.
Also, for your planning purposes, the final assembly for our eighth-graders will take place on Thursday, June 16 at 6:00 PM on the front lawn of Hampton Academy.

We want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday weekend ahead.  Go Red Sox!

In partnership,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
Superintendent
