Weekly update in a coffee cup

April 8, 2022

Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90:

As previously mentioned in our letters, the New Hampshire Department of Education wants to hear from staff, families, and community members in our school community.  The 603 Bright Futures Survey is available from now until April 29th.  We are asking everyone to please set aside some time to participate in this offering.  While so much has changed in the past two years, it is critical to understand how we have all been impacted and how to best move forward for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.  Thank you in advance for your participation in this survey.

Please mark your calendar for April 18 at 7:00 PM at Hampton Academy in the auditorium for a district Internet Safety Conversation with Director of Connect Safely and Author, Kerry Gallagher.  In addition to being an administrator at St. John’s Prep in Danvers, Massachusetts, Kerry received the 2014 Yale-Lynn Hall Teacher Action researcher Prize.  She was also a PBS Learning Media Digital Innovator, an ASCD Emerging Leader, and a Future Ready Instructional Coach Thought Leader.  She has received numerous awards for her work and presents to school districts around the country.  Her multi-award-winning blog can be found at www.KerryHawk02.com.

A reminder that the PTA meets the third Tuesday of the month at Hampton Academy Library/Media Center starting at 7:00 PM and also streaming live on Facebook.  These meetings typically last approximately an hour and are informative, productive opportunities for collaboration between our families and the schools.  At this time, there are a number of open positions that will need to be filled for next year including treasurer, communications, fundraising, secretary, and membership.  We hope you will consider these critical postings that support this wonderful organization which benefits our students and schools.  Please be sure to mark your calendars as the Hampton PTA will be hosting Casino Night at The Brook in Seabrook from April 30 to May 6.  On May 4, there will be a special Event Night where there will be gift baskets and raffles.  Remember, a portion of the proceeds are given back to our schools!  Additionally, there will be some upcoming spring events including a picnic dinner at Tuck Field on June 4 with June 5 set as the rain date.  Look for more information coming soon! The next PTA Meeting is on April 19.

Please be sure to review the attached flyer from the Lane Library.  They are offering some wonderful events for families and students this month.

Kind regards,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
Superintendent
