Flowered weekly update words

March 18, 2022

Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90:

Yesterday, Larry the Leprechaun visited Centre School.  Students participated in a number of activities including a door decorating contest.  The winner of the contest will win first prize which means that Principal Lannan will serve as their Guest Teacher for the day!  At Marston School and Hampton Academy, students participated in warm spirit days to commemorate the occasion while focusing on building communities of learners!

This weekend, we are pleased to offer two opportunities to our families.  Bedtime Stories, as Told by Our Day Who Messed Them Up will be performed by the Hampton Academy Players Friday at 7 PM and Saturday at 4 PM.  Tickets are available at the door.  Also, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown will be performed at Winnacunnet High School.   We hope you will consider attending these community events while supporting our students, schools, and the arts!

On Monday, March 21, the report cards will be made available through the parent portal as of 4 pm.  Should you need any assistance logging in or accessing PowerSchool, please be sure to reach out to our Data Specialist, Mr. Tim Smith.  He can be reached at 603-926-4560 or tsmith@sau90.org.  On Wednesday, March 23, parents will have the opportunity to meet with classroom teachers and staff to discuss their child’s progress.  We look forward to these conversations and partnering with families on their child’s educational progress.

We wish to thank the many parents, staff, and community members that completed the survey posted prior to the break surrounding ESSER Funds.  These federal funds are used to support learning loss and challenges related to COVID-19.  Your input is greatly appreciated and valued.  Special thanks to everyone who attended the school board meeting to share their thoughts.  We look forward to sharing our plans as they develop.

The School Board approved our presented COVID-19 plan regarding the newly updated guidelines from CDC/DHHS.  To reiterate, we no longer require masks, students will be able to return to the lunchroom, and class cohorting, as well as social distancing, will no longer be necessary.  Building principals are working with facilities and food services regarding these changes.  Facilities will be in full force this weekend, as they begin to clear common spaces for this transition.   Special thanks to Facilities Manager, Keith Lessard, and his staff.  A copy of the plan shared Tuesday night, can be found on our website under COVID-19 resources.

We also want to let you know that we are currently in conversation with the Hampton Rec and YMCA School’s Out.  We are anxious for after-school programming to begin while recognizing the number of families who typically access before and after school care through YMCA School’s Out.  We know that families are eager to get back to participating in these offerings as well.  We will continue to keep you updated on our conversations!

See you at the theater!

Warmly,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
