Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,
It is with great pride that our school year winds down. Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the Winnacunnet High School Graduation. It was thrilling to see that five of the top ten graduates were from the Hampton School District. What a wonderful evening for our community! These past weeks, Marston had their Celebration of Learning/Grade 5 Play, Grade 2-3 Information Night, and field day. Centre hosted their concerts ice cream social, and field day. Hampton Academy held their band and chorus concerts, Outsider’s Day, and field day. We are so proud of our students, their successes, and their learning this year. These culminating milestones allowed us the opportunity to celebrate our students, thank our staff and families, and recognize the hard work that went into this past year. Our sincere gratitude to all of our families and staff for their continued support this year. It takes a village…and I am proud that mine is Hampton!
At our school board meeting this week, we recognized six outstanding staff members who will be retiring at the end of the school year. These amazing educators have over 115 years combined of service to the Hampton School District. They leave behind a legacy of students, parents, and colleagues who they have all positively impacted during this time. We wish them all the best as they move forward and begin retirement. These staff members include SAU 90 Administrative Assistant, Kathy Tuck; SAU 90 Pupil Services Director, Dr. Lois DaSilvaKnapton; Speech Language Pathologist from Centre School, Heather Cronin; First Grade Teacher, Mary Wilson; Special Education Paraprofessional from Centre School, Denise Townsend; and Fifth Grade Teacher, Amy Murphy. We thank them for their years of service and congratulate them on their successful tenure in our district.
Next week is the last week of school for our students. Students will be dismissed early on Tuesday, June 17. During this short but important time, there will be many events and activities to culminate our school year. Two very important traditions that we will continue are our Fifth Grade Farewell Assembly and our Eighth Grade Final Assembly which will be held on Monday, June 16. You should be hearing from your child’s principal regarding these two milestone events. Additionally, yearbooks will be available to our students. These will be delivered to those families who pre-ordered them. They will serve as a wonderful keepsake of our time together commemorating the school year.
We kindly ask that all students and staff with outstanding balances with Food Services to settle their accounts prior to June 17. If you are in need of financial assistance, we ask that you reach out to our Director of Food Services, Mrs. Borg at 603-926-9826 or your child’s school principal.
All student chrome books will be returned prior to the last day of school. If any are needed for the summer program, students will be assigned a loaner. We ask that this technology be returned in good working condition with their charger. As per the computer user policy, students are responsible for their safe return. Classroom/homeroom teachers will be collecting these. Along those lines, we ask that all students and staff return any books and materials to their respective school libraries.
On behalf of the district, I wish you all a wonderful, well-deserved summer. May it be filled with happy memories, time at our beautiful beaches, and good health. Our district is open daily from 8 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday – Thursday, and 8 AM – 12 noon on Friday. If you need anything at all, please feel free to reach out to your child’s principal or me. Also, names for next year’s teachers will be released in August. Be on the lookout for that information. In closing, please mark your calendar! School begins on Tuesday, August 26. Meet the Teacher will be on Monday, August 25.
Wishing all our dads and father-figures a wonderful day on Sunday!
Warmly,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
Superintendent of SAU 90
