Weekly update

March 10, 2023
Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90:
Today marks the end of the second trimester. On Monday, March 20, report cards will be
issued to all students. On Wednesday, March 22, parents will have the opportunity to meet
with classroom teachers and staff to discuss their child’s progress. You will be receiving
notification from the schools shortly about this upcoming event.
Our Mental Health Team, which is comprised of our school counselors, psychologists, district
social worker, student service director and me, continue to work on ways to support our
students and their wellbeing. This allows students to be more productive at school and achieve
higher levels of learning. Our team uses data-based decision making and relies on action
planning to support student mental health. Focus is on prevention, intervention, positive
development, and regular communication between school and families. Morning meetings and
advisory are proactive interventions aimed at fostering positive relationships and community
building with our students. This is essential for social emotional learning and academic success!
The schools aim to educate staff, parents, and students on symptoms of mental health. As a
district we promote social and emotional competency while building resilience. We work with
all staff members, including our student resource officers, to ensure a positive, safe school
environment. We continue to teach and reinforce positive behaviors and decision-making.
Through our community-based approach we encourage helping others. Together, we make the
difference. For more information, please be sure to visit our SAU 90 School Counselors

also pleased to share that Winnacunnet High School Theatre is presenting Little Shop of Horrors
also on that weekend, March 17-19. Please see the attached flyers for additional information.
We hope you will support these aspiring thespians who have worked very hard on these
productions! As they say in show biz, “Break a leg!”
Remember to spring ahead this weekend!
Warmly,
