Hampton School District is hosting ALICE Training on Monday, Aug. 10 and
Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Hampton Academy, 29 Academy Ave. Registration is still
open for principals, superintendents, Student Resource Officers, police, fire, and
town employees.
The two-day training will include classroom instruction and physical drills where
participants will engage in scenario-based exercises.
The training takes a proactive approach to violent incidents, teaching five
response steps: Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.
Participants will come out of the training with the skills to use informed
decision-making response strategies when faced with violence. Taking part in the
training also ensures that you have the necessary skills to teach others the
strategies from the course.
During the training, residents and community members may see an increased
public safety presence on school grounds; however, there is no danger to the
public.
