Newsletter 3-6-26

March 6, 2026

Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90:

This coming Tuesday, Hampton will hold town elections. Winnacunnet High School serves as our polling site and is open from 7 AM until 8 PM.  There are four warrant articles from our district for your consideration along with one open seat for school board.  Please be sure to cast your vote. For more information on our warrant articles, please be sure to visit our website. A newsletter from our School Board is attached for your review.

In the upcoming weeks, our schools will celebrate Read Across America. On Monday morning, March 16, Centre School will host guest readers, participate in character day, and welcome children’s author, David Biedrzycki.  Although we celebrate literacy every day, the impact of these special events elevates the importance of reading and writing proficiency with our youngest students as they learn how to read. Please be sure to check out this video and article regarding our success with our literacy scores as evidenced on
US News and World Report Rankings and The 74, a nonprofit news outlet covering U.S. education.

We are pleased to share a new offering from the Cook Center, ParentGuidance.org which offers parents, caregivers, and staff over 70 on-demand courses. These courses are led by licensed therapist and cover topics such as anxiety, bullying, technology use, and child/teen development.  These can be accessed anytime, making them a flexible resource for learning and support.  On-Demand courses can be found here.

We are pleased to share that the Hampton Academy Players will present Ghostlight by Stephen Gregg this Friday and Saturday evening beginning at 7:00 PM in the Hampton Academy auditorium. I had the pleasure of attending Thursday’s afternoon performance, and it is not to be missed. Tickets are $6.00 and can be purchased at the door. This is suitable for students grade 5 and up. Special thanks to Ms. Judith Clark, the cast and families for all their work and support of this fantastic production. The students were amazing and performed beautifully on stage!

Remember to spring ahead this weekend and to VOTE on Tuesday!

Warmly,

Dr. Lois B. Costa
