Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,
I am pleased to share that we will continue to offer resources to support mental health and wellness for the 2025-2026 school year. ParentGuidance.org is free to all staff, caring adults/parents, and families in our district.
ParentGuidance.org is a service developed by licensed therapists that provides trusted and specialized courses, professional support, and a safe community to learn how to support our children and get answers to mental health questions. Our hope is that ParentGuidance.org will give parents/caring adults a place to go for answers to support and help their children struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, bullying, grief, just to name a few, as well as provide tools to form stronger bonds between caring adults and their children. There are over 50 free courses which are led by licensed therapists as well as an ask-a-therapist section on the website.
If you or someone you know in our district seems to be struggling or overwhelmed, please remind them of this site where they can get trusted resources. ParentGuidance.org is free and confidential to our district.
We are also offering Parent Coaching to all families and staff within the district, which is a confidential service provided to parents, staff, and families. If you or your family is in need of extra support, go to ParentGuidance.org, select “Parent Coaching”, and "Get Started.” A coach can meet with you as often as weekly for a 30-minute session to discuss your concerns or needs. You will also be able to message your coach if other concerns arise before your next scheduled meeting. For more information about the coaching process, click the links below:
Additionally, our district will be able to join regularly scheduled webinars referred to as our Mental Health Series. This series will be held throughout the school year to educate parents and staff on topics such as: Your Child’s Anxiety, Helping Your Child Succeed – Three Parenting Styles, and Social Media: Protecting Your Child. Watch for more information to pre-register.
Monthly, parents/caring adults can anonymously join an Ask a Therapist LIVE, one-hour workshop with a licensed therapist who has expertise in youth mental health. The therapist will directly answer parents’ questions during the session. Information will be forthcoming.
Review the ParentGuidance portion of our website to view the November Calendar of Events and November newsletter. Should you have further questions, please reach out to our district mental health team or me.
Kindest Regards,
Dr. Lois Costa
Superintendent
