Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90:
This week an unauthorized individual entered the Marston playground area via the Hobbs Road entrance and briefly approached a group of students. A staff member intervened immediately, moving students to safety while school administration and our School Resource Officer responded. Responding officers escorted the individual off-grounds, with an arrest made at the property line.
At no point were students in immediate danger. The individual was in mental health distress, not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and no weapons were present. We are grateful for the quick, professional actions of our staff and local law enforcement, which ensured the situation was contained within moments. We remain in close contact with Chief Reno to ensure our schools continue to be safe environments.
Spring has arrived! Thank you to everyone who supported our talented student performers at Hampton Academy and Winnacunnet High these past two weeks. Don't miss Marston School’s 24th Annual Variety Show 6PM on March 25, at Hampton Academy.
The School Board has set the last day of school for June 16, as an early release (11:30AM for Hampton Academy; 12PM for Centre and Marston). The final eighth-grade assembly is scheduled for June 15, with more details to follow for 8th-grade families soon.
Finally, per Policy GBCD, all volunteers and field trip chaperones must complete fingerprinting every four years. Please sign up for a fingerprint appointment through this link, or contact Administrative Assistant, Erin Allen at eallen@sau90.org to check on your fingerprint status.
