Dear Hampton Academy Families,
It is hard to believe that we are in October. Students in all grade levels should have well-established homework habits by this point. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding academic progress.
Please be aware of TikTok Challenges that are encouraging students to damage school restrooms and to physically (and inappropriately) touch school staff members. We have had a few incidents of students acting on the first challenge mentioned, and we hope that we do not experience any of the second challenge. There is a calendar being posted on TikTok with a different challenge each month.
Come out and join the SAU 90 Mental Health Team and Connor’s Climb Foundation for a combined in-person/live stream presentation of SOS (Signs of Suicide) Training Trusted Adults prevention training for parents and community members on Wednesday, October 13th from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Hampton Academy Dining Hall. The training will provide parents with youth suicide prevention basics. We hope you can join us for this important event. In conjunction with Connor’s Climb training and our health teachers, the guidance counselors will be sharing information with all Academy students.
The PowerSchool parent portal is available for you to keep up with your child’s grades, assignments, and announcements. If you have not yet created an account or are having difficulty logging into your account, please email Tim Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org) for assistance. The first trimester marking period ends December 3. Report cards will be available on December 10. Virtual parent/student conferences are scheduled for November 17, 3:30-6:30 PM, and November 18, 4-7 PM. Each team will send home a form to sign up for conferences.
In observance of Columbus Day, there is no school Monday, October 11. A calendar with all release dates and holidays can be found on the SAU 90 website.
On Thursday evening, October 14, at 6:30 pm, a representative from Pat’s Peak will be at Hampton Academy to answer questions and assist with online enrollment in our popular ski club program. Bus transportation is available but limited to the first 60 students. The program begins Friday, January 7, and runs for five consecutive Fridays, weather permitting. The ski program relies on the support of parent chaperones; skiers and non-skiers.
Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated the week of November 26. Our Guidance Counselors and staff will offer a number of activities to encourage students to take the pledge to resist drugs and violence. Below is a list of October events at Hampton Academy. We will continue to use the Apptegy program to communicate with families.
