Superintendent Weekly Newsletter

Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,

Our SROs have spent time with our students reviewing Halloween Safety.  Please be sure to review and reinforce safety tips with your children: consider incorporating a cloth or surgical mask into your costume, trick-or-treat in small groups outdoors or enjoy other outdoor activities, and remember to wash hands before eating candy.  For more information, please visit the National Safety Council.  Trick-or treating takes place in Hampton on Saturday from 5:30 – 8:00 PM.

What a beautiful week our sixth graders had at Environmental Camp at Camp Merrowvista in Center Tuftonboro, New Hampshire.  This immersive outdoor experience offers our students an opportunity for hands-on environmental and nature discovery, team building, personal growth, outdoor recreation and skill building.  Special thanks to our staff, students, and families for making the trip so memorable and successful!

I had the opportunity to spend time at Centre School visiting classrooms, students, and staff.  I enjoyed the preschool parade on Thursday and the whole-school parade on Friday.  These community events build school spirit and belonging, strengthen our family-school connections, encourage creative expression and inclusivity, while celebrating seasonal milestones.  Be sure to view our Facebook post for highlights from my visit.

At this time, we continue to work with the Hampton School Board on our annual budget for the 2027-2028 school year.  Meetings are recorded and available on Channel 8.

As a reminder we “fall back” on Sunday as daylight saving time goes into effect, which means you gain one more hour of sleep!  Voting takes place on Tuesday, November 3 at Winnacunnet High School from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM.

Wishing you a happy and safe Halloween ahead!

Dr. Lois B. Costa
