Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,
This week, I had the privilege of visiting Hampton Academy, where staff are diligently working to reinforce “The Academy Way,” our core expectations for student success centered on self-management, responsibility, and respect. This focus on a positive and consistent learning environment is being supported at the district level through the development of a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTTS-b) framework. Members of the leadership team attend training at the Department of Education in Concord to ensure we establish a comprehensive, system-wide approach to promoting student wellness and academic success. Check out our Facebook page for more highlights from my visit!
Signed into law as Chapter 324, House Bill 1300 (HB1300) requires that a question regarding a local school district tax cap appear on the state general election ballot in November 2026 and November 2028. If adopted by voters in a municipality, the tax cap limits future property tax levy growth for the school district based on regional inflation and net new taxable property growth, while also establishing fixed administrative caps on central administrative unit (SAU) expenses. To review the full enacted bill text or check your local ballot details, please visit the New Hampshire General Court Bill Status Page or contact the town clerk's office.
On Wednesday, the Hampton School Board hosted a hearing to provide information and answer questions about HB1300. As part of our commitment to keeping our community informed about state legislation impacting public education, please view the New Hampshire School Administrators Association (NHSAA) informational video.
Wishing you a wonderful fall weekend ahead!
In partnership,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
Superintendent of Schools
