Superintendent Weekly Newsletter

September 11, 2026

Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks - an event that changed our nation forever, but one that many in our community are too young to remember or were not yet born to experience. Please take time today to remember, reflect, and learn about the unimaginable loss we experienced, as well as the inspiring stories of bravery, compassion, unity, and service that emerged from that day and have rippled through the decades.

This past Tuesday at our School Board meeting, we reviewed our strategic planning and goals for the 2026–2027 school year. These goals grow from an extensive analysis of our district's strengths and challenges—including communication, enrollment shifts, school safety, professional practice, and funding. From that foundational work, we established three core district priorities: Communication, Safety, and Curriculum and Professional Practice. Each of these priorities is paired with actionable SMART objectives for the year, and individual schools will align their building plans accordingly.

On Wednesday, we guided the Budget Committee on a tour of our school facilities. Facilities Manager, Tim Harrington, and Business Administrator, Mariah Curtis, highlighted several recent improvements, including the installation of new windows at Centre School and new flooring at Marston School. We look forward to joining committee members again on Tuesday evening as we begin preparations for the 2027–2028 school budget. We deeply appreciate their partnership and dedicated service on behalf of our town and community.

Finally, this weekend brings the annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival. Please anticipate increased traffic and potential congestion on local roads and near parking lots, as some of these areas overlap with our school bus pick-up and drop-off locations. We ask everyone to exercise extra caution and patience while driving.

Wishing you all a wonderful and safe weekend ahead.

Warmly,

Dr. Costa

Superintendent, SAU 90
