Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90:
It certainly has been a very busy week in the Hampton School District with many events including Bring Your Child to Work Day for Seventh Grade, Centre School Celebration of Learning/Book Fair, ESOL Family Night, and the Art Show. All these opportunities help to showcase the invaluable learning experiences and work of our students and staff while upholding our deep commitment to our children’s education.
We have officially entered the testing window of the New Hampshire Statewide Assessment System (NHSAS). Each year, students in grades three through eight participate in these English language arts and mathematics testing. Additionally, students in grades five and eight will also participate in the science test. Students have participated in the science assessments this past week. The purpose of these tests is to measure students’ academic achievement and to support student learning. Please refer to your school’s schedule regarding these upcoming assessments. We kindly ask that students get a good night’s sleep, eat a nutritious breakfast, and arrive to school on time on the day of testing. Your assistance and proactive planning will help to ensure better outcomes. Thank you in advance.
Have you ever considered a career in education? Did you know that the Hampton School District partners with the New Hampshire Registered Educator Apprenticeship Program (NH REAP) which offers a paid, supported, hands-on path into teaching. Para educators, Registered Behavior Technicians, and Applied Behavior Analysts are eligible to participate. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
This week, we honored our administrative assistants and First Student. These key staff members play a significant role in our daily work. We are grateful for the partnership with First Student and our drivers. Their dedication to safely transporting students is valued and appreciated. When we return from the break, there will be a lot to look forward to with staff appreciation along with our sports programs, GOTR 5K, field trips, transitional activities, and after school clubs. It is sure to be an exciting time in the school year!
Enjoy the wonderful spring break ahead!
Warmly,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
Superintendent
