Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,

Last night, the town budget committee reviewed our proposed 2026-2027 budget and the warrant articles that will be presented to voters on March 10 at Winnacunnet High School. Our leadership team and School Board take our fiscal responsibilities seriously, and we have worked diligently to create a fair budget that remains focused on the quality of our schools.

Our proposed budget is 1.24% over the default budget. Please note that the "default budget" includes encumbered funds voted on last spring, such as teacher and support staff contracts. We invite you to join us for a discussion regarding these articles at the Deliberative Session on February 4 at 7:00 PM at the Hampton Academy Auditorium. An overview of the warrant articles and estimated tax impact on our website here.

Beyond fiscal planning, our School Board manages a wide range of state and federal regulations to ensure we continue to enhance student achievement. We are currently reviewing policies required by the State of New Hampshire, including bullying and use of restraints, concussions and health education, background checks and school lunch payments. Policies are reviewed at our monthly School Board meetings, and we welcome your feedback during the public comment portion of our sessions.

To help families engage more effectively with school officials, we have launched a new informational resource on our website. We hope this tool makes it easier for you to find the answers and support you need.

As always, if I can assist with any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend ahead!

In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr... "The time is always right to do what is right."

Dr. Lois B. Costa,

Superintendent of SAU 90
