Superintendent Weekly Newsletter

September 26, 2025

Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,

I am pleased to share several updates from our New Hampshire Department of Education Commissioner, Caitlin Davis.

  • Holiday Cards for Our Military Challenge
Students are invited to create holiday cards to brighten the season for soldiers overseas. Address cards to “Dear Warrior,” include a greeting, note, or picture, and sign with first name and hometown. Use paper no larger than 8½ × 11, folded in half. Envelopes are optional—if used, leave them unsealed and unaddressed. Please send cards to school by November 1 for district collection.

  • Drought Awareness
Despite recent rain, our state remains in severe drought. Please review the attached
resource and conserve water where possible.

  • Mathematics Landscape Survey
The state is developing a new State Mathematics Plan and seeks input from parents, educators, and community members. Your feedback is welcome through the Mathematics Landscape Survey.

Finally, we are pleased to announce our next community read with the Lane Library, Mel Robbin’s bestseller, The Let Them Theory.  Our first meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 3 from 7-8 PM in the Hampton Academy Cafeteria.  Limited copies are available at the SAU and Lane Library. Please be sure to let us know if you are interested in joining by signing up with me at lcosta@sau90, or at the Lane Library with Cameron Rees at crees@hampton.liv.nh.us.

Wishing you a happy fall weekend ahead!

Warmly,

Dr. Lois Costa
