Pre-K, Kindergarten, First and Second Grade Music
I attended the University of New Hampshire from 2002-2006 and graduated with a Bachelors of Music Degree in Music Education. I have also received my Masters Degree in Education with a focus on Learning Through the Integrated Arts from Lesley University. I am also a certified Music Together teacher and have had several years of experience working with the early childhood age group.
This year I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Olson on an after school program called, MuseArt. We had over 20 second grade students work with us for six weeks to relate Music and the Visual Arts in a creative and fun new way! We explored the sixth sense of synesthesia and studied artists such as Wassily Kandinski. Abstract art was a focus for the program as well as student compositions. Please see the links above for pictures and artifacts from the program. New offerings for after school Music activities will be announced in the Fall of 2017.
Welcome to the Centre School Music Website!
Each week your student will visit the music room for a 45 minute period. In those 45 minutes we will explore with sounds, rhythm, pitch, movement, instruments, and more! Please feel free to contact me at anytime if there are any questions or concerns about your child's musical progress. This class is designed to be a comfortable and exciting learning environment where students can appreciate an art form as well as develop new talents! Every lesson is alligned to the National Core Arts Standards. These standards are outlined for you by grade level and are available as a link on this page.
